where there are rats, there are cats...

"Millionaire" by Kellis and Andre 3000 is an utterly wicked song- one that has taken residence in my head and refused to quit but not in a bad way- I doubt Kellis will ever get this close to brilliance again. The song is almost derailed by Andre's bizzare rap at the end (where there are rats, there are cats/wherever there are cats there are dogs...) what the hell was he on about? Well he's Andre so I guess he could be forgiven. The song still rocks.
And there have been a rash of great singles lately. Another stunning song is 'Mary' by the Scissors sisters while Dizzee Rascal's 'Dream' is also a great track albeit very unconventional. Anastasia ('Sick and tired') and jamelia ('See it in a boys eyes') are giving pop a good name again and of course special mention for Eminem's latest bout of insanity 'Just lose it'. John Mayer's ' Daughters' Linkin Park's 'breaking the habit' and the Alicia keys/Usher duet 'My boo' round out my list. I bet in a few weeks, we will be back to the shit singles because it won't get this good for a while.
However Dishonorable mention for Christina Aguilera's 'car wash' which has made me smash up many a radio and Destiny's child's 'Lose my breath' which is something they obviously collaborated on while sleepwalking. Let's not even get started on Brittney Spear's death throes- that song sucked when Bobby Brown did it, but now its intolerable.
