Telling people you are from Rwanda inevitably leads to a number of interesting responses not all of them coherent. I have been collecting them in their glory(cough) for posterity so here is the first batch:
"Rwanda? hmm.."
"That's interesting"
"Is that in...no..in...near...oh right!"
"Pass the water"
*blank stare*
"So what are you doing here man?"
"That's cool"
"Is that in Asia...oh Africa!" (Look in eyes 'isnt that the same thing?')
"So where did you learn English?"
"Man I'm not even going to pretend I know where that is!"

alot of times when i say i'm from Rwanda,people hea London. Rwanda-London???I don't see the connection there.

It's an interesting kind but check out ledisi(www.ledisi.com)or even better my cousin somi (somisunshine.com) she has a song in nyaru thats hopefully a sample lol she grew up here so um excuse the accent.All i hear in that song is amaboko. Eh but i've written an essay.
Yay she does have a sample on the website(somi's) just go to music and the song is called Mbabazi n i lied you can kinda understand what shes saying it funny in a cute way though...anyways enjoy.
I apologise in advance if I am about to be politically incorrect, but what do you think about Romeo Dallaire (former head of the UN peacekeeping force)and the rest of his Canadian troup who came forth to talk about the massacares that happened there 10 years ago? Since Dallaire is Canadian, we have been hearing alot about Rwanda through his book, documentaries etc...
Just curious...
