Oscar night
Somehow-Im not quite sure how or why- I managed to stay up for the entire ceremony which was a lot shorter than I can remember. Completely random thoughts:
-How much kissing ass and variations on the 'Im so humbled and honored' theme can you squeeze into three hours without being sued by the general public? There were so many times I nearly ran off for a sick bucket.
-Chris Rock's opening monologue was quite hilarious but afterwards he was suprisingly non-controversial.
-Morgan Freeman winning- what a super-cool guy. You could pay a full cinema ticket to watch him standing around drinking beer.
-Cate Blanchett trying to marry off her kid to Martin Scorcese's in her acceptance speech- That was really really creepy.
-How many songs did Beyonce sing? What was the point?
-Sean Penn is an incredible actor, but he has absolutely no sense of humor. Chris Rock knocking Jude Law WAS A JOKE! Lighten up retard!
-Sharon Osbourne as the Oscar guide on SKY TV was a catastrophic decision- She was so irritating that she nearly derailed the entire show. I couldnt stand her. Worst.host.ever.
-I really really feel for Martin Scorcese. The most brilliant director of the last thirty years still hasnt won an Oscar. What exactly does he have to do, direct a classic film that changes cinema and influences directors for generations to come...Oh wait, hes done that already- at least five times. Please remember that 'Taxi Driver' lost out to...ROCKY! Academy award members should not be allowed near class A drugs when they are voting.
-Best decision of the night has to be Charlie Kauffman finally winning.
-Jamie Foxx gave a very emotional speech, but we all knew he would be up there.
-Did any heterosexual male hear a single word that Salma Hayek was saying? I know I didnt and it wasnt because of the accent....
-Renee Zelwegger looked more than odd- she was almost creepy.

Chris Rock: I was not imppressed. hes a funny guy, but what he did was akin to a stand up routine on BET. The oscars are supposed to be a little More Classy....
I didnt see Sharon Osbourn, but could it have been worse than Star Jones on E!? She has the most annoying voice!
Good review Nzo!hehe on Renee Zellwegger chick,completely agree on Morgan freeman he's like the cool geriatric id go for drinks with (along with Jack Nicholson).
Stop hating on Beyonce!she did an excellent job,although during "Look to your part"from "the chorist"we were trying to actually listen to the words and well it was kinda impossible cos sounded like Mandarin instead of French.
I agree with u on Beyonce or am i hating? As for Sean Penn he just irritated me at that point.Rene, Rene, Rene, honey needs Kivuguto/milkshakes and whatever other form of nutrition she can get her hands on asap!
Hurray for Morgan. Kashata you'll have to wait till I'm done with him.
And Rene is looking seriously freakish!!! Can someone hand her a sandwich and some tanning lotion please!

Actually Selma was the only reason worth watching. Ok, Morgan winning was cool. He's such a great actor.
I was happy with most of the winners this year. Usually I'm pissed off about it but I am furious about Martin loosing. I loved Chris Rock's intro and I loved seeing Morgan getting an award. The best award though was for Jamie Foxx. His portrayal of Ray Charles was spot on!!
