Watching Cameron vs Davis last night. They were so unfailingly polite to each other that like me, the audience was beginning to get restless. I was thinking 'lightsabres!' 'A fight to the death in a steel cage!' 'staring contest with Jeremy Paxman' but unfortunately politics has become a lot more civilized down the years. David Cameron looks like he would be asked for ID before entering a club. Is he going to be able to run the country if he doesn't look old enough to wear a tie? I don't know, but I like him though. And try as he does to deny it, the man is Blair-lite.
Sun editor Rebekah Wade has just acquired a fantastic nickname- 'the ginger ninja'. She apparently assaulted her husband last night and the irony is he plays a tough guy in 'Eastenders'. Anyway more ninjas are always welcome if you ask me although we might need to take a closer look at her qualifications. My friend Oscar tells me that the commitee back home is reconsidering my Ninja status because of some commitments I failed to adhere to while I was in Kigali. I told them to look into my previous good behaviour.
A quick story about Ninjas- when I was in P.3 and about nine years old, I used to sit with this guy called Aaron. I used to draw all sorts of things on the back of my books which was funny because I'm just about the worst artist in the world. Anyway one day I was drawing a ninja on the back of my book and Aaron asks me what I'm doing. Trying to be cheeky, I drew another Ninja and began to make a story on the spot but in the end I had to move the whole thing to a blank paper and draw more and more ninjas as the story developed while Aaron listened. I don't remember what the story was about or why I brought it up just now or how exactly I managed to make it run for at least thirty minutes or where the teacher was during all this, but I'm dealing with a million things in my life at the moment and this isn't one of them. Well it is now that I've brought it up, but...
